Hello friends of Plello! As you may have noticed, this blog hasn’t been getting much love lately. Essentially, I’ve been focusing all my efforts on growing my freelance graphic-design business and personal brand at ChrisPecora.com.

I don’t want to declare that Plello is “finished,” but rather that it is just on an “indefinite hiatus.” For now, we are all busy with other things, but certainly hope that one day we can do something again with this delightful little thing called Plello.

Well, the time has come and I’m leaving this beautiful part of the country. It’s been a great week of extreme humidity, torrential rain storms and too much Italian food. We did a drive by of Niagara Falls, but didn’t feel like fighting off hoards of tourists. If you want to see photos from my last trip to The Falls, click here. Unfortunately, I had to bring my work with me, so I spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the hotel room, drinking cheap coffee and making stuff. Worth it. Even though this image was more appropriate for coming TO Ontario, I don’t have time at the moment to make one for Alberta.

I got a new bike a few weeks ago. I named him George Bailey, in recognition of my affinity for the 1946 classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. George is pretty much the man, and the film is one of my all time favorites. Plus, I can now officially spout off one of my favorite lines from the film “George Bailey, I’ll love you ’till the day I die!”

A bunch of people I know have recently purchased new bikes (myself included) which has been getting me really excited about biking. Yesterday, my sister announced that got a new bike which resulted in some comments about starting a gang, which resulted in chatter about matching tattoos. How’s this?

This week was really exciting for me because I got drafted on Dribbble!

Unless you are a graphic designer, you probably have no idea what that is, so I’ll explain. Dribbble is an online design community where designers can post very small screenshots of what they are working on (400 x 300 pixels). In turn, other designers can comment and critique the work. It’s really cool, but it’s sort of exclusive because you need to get “drafted” in order to participate. This week Robyn Chel was awesome and drafted me. I’m really pumped.

Yesterday was beautiful. I was working from home and decided I needed a coffee break so I took my bike out for a spin. I’m not 100% on this, but it may have been the earliest in the year I’ve ever ridden a bicycle on pavement.
